Tummy tuck and Brazilian butt lift + Lipo 360 in the same operative session on a 52 year old female with a BMI of 35. I am able to perform this combination surgery despite the higher BMI in part because we use IV Sedation with a Board Certified Anesthesiologist instead of General Anesthesia.
There seems to be a lot of confusion about the different technologies plastic surgeons today are using for liposuction. Are the new technologies like Laser lipo and Ultrasonic lipo as good as all the hype? In this video I discuss the differences and explain why I prefer Tumescent liposuction with thin cannulas for achieving the best possible results.
Liposuction is a procedure which extracts fat from targeted areas of the body resulting in surprisingly dramatic body contour changes. It is the most commonly performed plastic surgery procedure and there are several Liposuction techniques based on the amount of anesthetic injected to the tissues, the method used to suction the fat, and the size of the cannula used (A cannula is the long, slender rod which is used to extract the fat).
Some patients come in almost deciding between a personal trainer and a plastic surgeon in an effort to get the flat tummy they’re after. Some have already been working with a personal trainer for years, but haven’t been able to get the results they’re really looking for. Some people will not be able to reduce the size of their abdomen to their satisfaction despite very rigorous exercise routines. These people have a separated rectus abdominis muscle and it can only be closed with surgery.
I often hear the question, “Can I have another procedure at the same time as the Brazilian butt lift?”
The answer is yes… and no, depending on the combination of procedures. The Brazilian butt lift already consists out of multiple procedures and while final results are dependent on your surgeon’s experience, skill, and technique, they’re also dependent on the patient following strict post-op guidelines.
BMI, or body mass index, is a surgical risk factor considered for candidates seeking a tummy tuck, a brazilian butt lift, and several other plastic surgery procedures.
In this video, I talk about BMI and what is required to be cleared for plastic surgery.
