Face Lift Procedures

"More and more plastic surgery savvy patients come to my office asking for a specific procedure. So which kind of face lift should you get? The one that fits YOU best, even if it doesn't have a catchy name!"
-Dr. Ricardo Rodriguez, board certified plastic surgeon

During your initial face lift consultation, it is important for you to explain just what looking younger means to you. To help the surgeon determine which procedure or combination of procedures might best produce the desired results, there has to be a good understanding between surgeon and patient. Depending on the desired changes you express, your face lift consultation may discuss the following face lift procedures:

Full Face Lift

A full face lift is a surgical transformation of the forehead, upper and lower eyelids, mid face, lower face, lips and neck. Learn more about the full facelift procedure.

Mid Face Lift

A mid face lift is a surgical rejuvenation of the cheekbone and eyelid area. Learn more about the mid facelift procedure.

Lower Face Lift

When cosmetic surgeons refer to a face lift they are often actually referring to a lower face lift. This procedure involves moving the skin of the face up and back. Learn more about the lower facelift procedure.

Regenerative Fat Grafting

You may be hearing a lot about regenerative fat grafting or the term stem cell facelift. This is an evolution of an existing fat grafting (fat injection) technique and it can be considered to be a type of tissue engineering. Fat grafts can be boosted with a higher concentration of minimally manipulated adipose stem cells. More than a decade ago, researchers discovered that your own adipose tissue contains adult stem cells. These are cells found in your own fat that have regenerative properties.

When the procedure is performed correctly, regenerative fat grafting can provide a new source of blood supply for your existing tissue and skin. Thus, the fat not only adds volume to your face, but it also has these natural regenerative properties to make your face look more youthful. Those stem cells explain why the skin of the face looks so much better after fat transfer. Learn more about regenerative fat grafting.

Threadlift

A threadlift is a type of face lift that is well known for its shorter recovery time. This procedure gets its name from the barbed suture used to grasp the facial tissues and elevate them. Learn more about the threadlift procedure.
