Benelli Technique
The Benelli Technique is a Mastopexy , or Breast Lift Technique which places a doughnut scar around the nipple. The scar is placed at the border of the colored area of the nipple areola so that it is well disguised. In the diagram below, for each technique the breast on the left shows the amount of skin which is taken out, 'Skin out'. The breast on the right represents the image of the scar , 'scar', after the skin has been removed.
Thus, in the Benelli Technique, a circular area of skin around the nipple is removed. The nipple is then reattached such that when it is sewn back in place by your plastic surgeon the breast will be lifted and perkier. Dr. Rodriguez uses this technique frequently with the Breast Lifts that he performs in his Baltimore Surgery Center.
